International rankings: Széchenyi University makes significant progress on QS sustainability listing

Széchenyi István University is becoming an increasingly significant international player in the field of sustainability: the institution has made remarkable progress in the latest ranking published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), demonstrating not only that it follows but also shapes global trends in responsible operation.

QS, one of the world’s most prestigious higher education rankings organisations, released its latest sustainability ranking on 18 November, bringing another international success for Széchenyi István University. The institution is placed 721st, marking a substantial improvement of 168 positions compared to last year. This achievement is even more noteworthy considering that more than 25,000 universities operate worldwide.

The list assesses institutions’ environmental and social impact as well as the quality of their governance processes, in alignment with ESG standards. The compilers once again evaluated universities’ actual, data-supported contributions to sustainability, with particular attention to institutional responsibility and the promotion of equality.
