International scheduled bus service resumes from Northern Hungarian town but is advertised with a major flaw – PHOTOS

An international scheduled bus service will carry passengers on two new routes between Northern Hungary and Southern Slovakia. A local Hungarian representative praised the initiative because it would help guest workers, students and tourists reach destinations in Hungary. Furthermore, there are plans to expand the bus transport system between the two countries, while the Chairman of the Nógrád County Assembly expressed the need for railway connections.
New international bus connection between Slovakia and Hungary
According to Zoltán Cziprusz, a councillor of the Hungarian Alliance in Slovakia, relaunching the scheduled bus connection between the two regions was an old promise they could now fulfil. The first bus will leave Rimaszombat (Rimavská Sobota) on 15 March and commute between Rimaszombat and Cered (Nógrád County, Hungary). Buses on the line will commute four times every day. According to Cziprusz, the bus line aims to help locals in the Southern Slovakian region get to their workplaces in Hungary. From Cered, they can travel either to Salgótarján or Budapest.

Another international bus line, which was terminated 24 years ago, will be launched between Losonc (Lučenec), Fülek (Fiľakovo) and Salgótarján. (HERE is a breathtaking video about the castle of Fülek.)
Cziprusz also talked about future ambitions concerning the expansion of the international bus network in the region. They would like to launch a Rimaszombat-Salgótarján and Rimaszombat-Putnok bus line, but they would not forget about their friends in Nagykürtös (Veľký Krtíš).
Prices and plans
According to felvidek.ma, travelling from Losonc to Salgótarján will cost EUR 3.5, while the ride from Rimaszombat to Cered will be EUR 3.3. The bus lines will be operated by the Slovak SAD Lučenec company. Ondrej Lunter, the county chairman, said they would like to help students, tourists and employees living in the region. He also highlighted the importance of tight cooperation with their Hungarian partners.
