Jazz musician Szakcsi and friends to give autism charity concert
Budapest (MTI) – Renowned Hungarian jazz pianist Bela Szakcsi Lakatos and his friends will give a charity concert in support of an autistic care centre in Hungary on January 16, the organiser said.
The concert at Budapest’s Academy of Music will feature works by George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein, as well as paraphrases on the composers’ themes, the Hungarian Franciscan Order told MTI on Saturday.
Kossuth Prize winning pianist Szakcsi Lakatos will appear on stage with fellow musicians Gyorgy Orban on double bass and Elemer Balazs on drums.
Szakcsi’s guests will include jazz singer Nikoletta Szoke, classical singers Szilvia Voros and Adam Horvath, and the pop singer Zseda.
The proceeds from the concert will go to the Autist Help Centre maintained by the Franciscans in Gyongyos in northern Hungary.
The number of people affected by autism in Hungary is estimated at 100,000.
