Jobbik: Public works schemes are bad for people who want to get a real job
Budapest (MTI) – The government’s fostered job schemes deprive participants of their human dignity, radical nationalist Jobbik said on Wednesday, adding that Jobbik would initiate an alternative scheme.
Speaking at a news conference in Veszprem, where a by-election is to be held, Andrea Varga-Damm said participants in current programmes are not sufficiently motivated and often lack the necessary capabilities to carry out their tasks.
Jobbik wants money that finances the current schemes to be channelled into companies which could then hire more employees with the help of the workplace community.
Jobbik lawmaker Tamas Sneider, who is a deputy speaker of parliament, said the party’s goal is to enable men as well as women to retire after 40 years of labour. Jobbik will start collecting signatures in support of the proposal at the end of February, he added.
