John Malkovich is coming to Budapest
According to index.hu, the organizers of the Budapest Spring Festival announced that the latest theatre performance starring John Malkovich is coming to Budapest next year.
The Budapest Spring Festival brings John Malkovich’s one-man drama Just Call Me God to Budapest. In this theatre and music piece of art the actor will be accompanied by Martin Haselböck, who plays the organ.
The Festival will be held between March 31-April 23, 2017, in 40 locations, with 120 interesting programmes. Further acts to perform at the Festival include Georg Baselitz, Gyenisz Macujev, Daniele Gatti and the Komische Oper Berlin.
The main theme of the event is the 150th anniversary of the Austro-Hungarian Compromise, but the 50th anniversary of the death of Zoltán Kodály will also be celebrated. Therefore, the closing event of the Festival is going to be the performance of Háry János, one of the works of Kodály. Moreover, the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble also prepares with a premiere.
