Legendary Buzánszky is feeling better in the hospital
Budapest (MTI) – The condition of Jenő Buzánszky, legendary player of the Golden Team, has improved, who has been nurtured in the Esztergom hospital since 12 December.
His son, Jenő Buzánszky, Jr. reported to FourFourTwo.hu that his father was not treated in the ICU, but in the medical ward. He added: the legendary player’s body got weak, his mood was unstable, he just slept mostly during the holidays. But, on Monday, while he moved from the ICU to the medical ward, he was in a defitinely good mood compared to the past. The portal reported that the Olympic champion sportsman continuously find it difficult to speak, because his throat was traumatized by the ventilator, but he was trying to communicate more. His son said his father ate a bite and occasionaly drank a few sips from the spritzer at his bedside.
The 89 year-old Buzánszky was a key man of the Golden Team, he played in 1952 in Helsinki, in the Olympic Champion team, he also played in 1953, the match of the century, and had a role in all of the 5 matches in the 1954 Swiss World Championship, on which the Hungarians won a silver medal. From 2011, he is the Athlete of the Nation and got elected to the Association of the Immortal Hungarian Athletes in November.
