Mazsihisz head elected vice president of European Jewish Congress
Budapest, May 4 (MTI) – The European Jewish Congress (EJC) has elected András Heisler, the head of the Hungarian Jewish federation Mazsihisz, to serve as its vice president for a period of four years, Mazsihisz said on Wednesday
This is the first time the EJC has elected a Hungarian to fill the post, it said.
The EJC is the leading organisation representing the interests of European Jewish communities. It has 43 members.
Heisler has also been serving since 2014 as vice president of the World Jewish Congress, of which the EJC is a regional affiliate.
