Due to repair works, metro line M3 will be replaced by buses between Nagyvárad tér and Kőbánya-Kispest on 6-7 August 2016 (Saturday-Sunday). Regular metro service will be available between Újpest-Központ and Nagyvárad tér.
Fare information
The required involuntary transfers during the replacement period are not considered to be trip interruptions, therefore when transferring between replacement buses and the metro, already validated single tickets (also of those from a block of 10 tickets) and transfer tickets are valid for onward travel. The other end of single tickets (the end without a number grid) needs to be stamped or punched with the validating machines. In the case of older-type single tickets from a stapled block, the individual tickets need to be torn out to do this, of course. Older-type transfer tickets have number grids at both ends, therefore no revalidation is needed at the other end in the case of this ticket type, as the second grid has already been validated or will be punched/stamped in the course of a regular transfer.
When using short section metro tickets for up to 3 stops, please consider the following when transferring between metro line M3 and the replacement bus:
For journeys started on metro line M3, when transferring to the replacement bus, section ticket validity must be calculated from the trip’s starting point, so the 3 stops need to be counted from the original stop (without replacement) where the passenger boarded.
For journeys started on the replacement bus where the point of boarding cannot be determined, a one-stop trip is assumed, so the section ticket is valid for up to 2 stops calculated from the transfer point (the second validation on metro line M3) which is Corvin-negyed metro station.
