Middle Eastern airline cancels Budapest flights

Despite the previous plans, Kuwait Airways will not come to Budapest Airport from 13 June.

According to Budflyer, a Hungarian travel news outlet, Kuwait Airways announced a direct flight between Kuwait City and Budapest. However, we can no longer buy a ticket for the flight. A block says on the website that all tickets have been “sold out”.

Kuwait Airways announced the flight for the summer season and would have operated it between 13 June and 30 September. Meanwhile, the airline’s other seasonal flight between Kuwait City and Vienna (Austria) will operate from 11 June. The planes will commute between the two capitals three times a week.

Cargo booming in Budapest despite global trends

Following the record set last year, cargo volumes reached new highs at Budapest Airport in March. While the industry has been slowing since the second half of 2022 on a global level, air cargo volumes in the Hungarian capital reached an annual record of 194,005 tons last year and continued to grow in March this year, exceeding the average monthly quantity of the previous year by 4.3 percent and of 2019 by 49.3 percent.

Budapest Airport would like to thank the cargo community for the hard work, whereby the role of the BUD Cargo City as an air cargo hub in the Central and Eastern European region is continuously strengthening.
