Minister: it is hight time that Brussels paid!
Justice Minister Judit Varga on Friday called on the European Union to disburse the funds “Hungarians are entitled to”.
Varga said on Facebook that she had written a letter to Didier Reynders, the European Commissioner for Justice, saying that Hungary had fulfilled all its commitments regarding “judicial milestones”, MTI wrote. Hungary’s parliament adopted a judiciary package in May, which was then implemented in practice, opening the way for the EC to start paying the funds Hungary is entitled to, she said.
“Despite pressure from the Hungarian and European left, and EU institutions dragging their feet, Hungary’s government cooperated closely with the EC and fulfilled all its commitments amid constructive dialogue, so Brussels will have to pay the EU funds Hungary is entitled to,” she said.
