Ministry: Hungary, Russia to further strengthen health-care cooperation
Hungary and Russia will further strengthen their cooperation in health-care development, and Hungarian experts will have the opportunity to study the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V at WHO-accredited Russian laboratories as soon as next week, the Ministry of Human Resources told MTI on Saturday.
Minister Miklós Kásler received Mikhail Murashko, the Russian health minister, in his office, the ministry said in a statement. They discussed the testing of the Sputnik V vaccine as well as the importance of the Central and Eastern European Academy of Oncology.
Kásler expressed his appreciation to the Russian minister during the meeting that Hungary had been the first country to receive samples of Russia’s coronavirus vaccine, which is already undergoing testing.
Kásler stressed that only a vaccine that is guaranteed to be effective and safe would be distributed in Hungary, the statement said.
He also talked about the mission and importance of the Central and Eastern European Academy of Oncology. With the involvement of Russian health professionals, the academy can rely on a group of excellent experts, the minister said.
The parties also plan to strengthen cooperation in the application of information technology in health care such as telemedicine solutions, the ministry said.
