More frequent airport bus services in Budapest from July!

From July, the buses will run more frequently on the 100E Airport Express line, the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) shared on Tuesday with MTI.

More frequent airport bus service

As they wrote, the bus service between Deák Ferenc Square and Liszt Ferenc International Airport will be adapted to the increase in summer tourist traffic and the events in Budapest that attract a large number of foreign tourists. Thus, from Saturday onwards, buses will depart every 10 minutes from the city centre to the airport every day of the week instead of every 15 minutes, so passengers can also reach the early morning flights more comfortably.

According to the information, on the busiest days at the airport, Monday and Friday, buses will depart every 6-7 minutes instead of the previous 7-8 during the busiest daytime periods. From Tuesday to Thursday, buses will depart from the terminals every 7-8 minutes instead of 10 minutes, on Saturday mornings every 7-8 minutes instead of 8-9 minutes and every 8-9 minutes instead of 10 minutes in the afternoon.

New innovation: Budapest Pay & Go

As a result of the recent improvements to the service, new MAN buses have been introduced. Furthermore, thanks to the introduction of Budapest Pay & Go, passengers can now use their physical or virtual credit card as a ticket on the 100E Airport Express, making it more convenient to travel on the service on these days, too, they said. You can read our article on the introduction of the Budapest Pay & Go system HERE.

The timetable of the airport bus is available on the BKK website and in the BudapestGO app. The ticket for the bus can be purchased from BKK ticket machines, at customer service points and using the app.

As they wrote, BKK’s goal is to provide a better level of service from the city centre to the airport, or vice versa, for passengers travelling from and to Budapest. Accordingly, the transport operator has developed a timetable so that passengers arriving on time can always find a seat on the bus.

The staff of BKK continuously monitors the traffic of the 100E bus, so the transport operator can quickly adapt to changes in accordance with customer needs, the statement adds.
