New bank note is introduced on 14 December
The Hungarian National Bank’s (MNB) new 20.000 Ft note is released on 14 December. Several changes were made, such as the colour of the note, but it also contains an UV motif, special fibers, and safety threads, writes turizmusonline.hu.
There’s no change in the size of the note, and the portrait of Ferenc Deák is still on the front, but the paper has a different colour now: the front is multi-coloured, the base print reaches the edges and has three different colours, with a turquoise effect. The base print is iris like on the left side around the watermark, orange on the right side, and the overall effect is turquoise like.
There’s a safety thread in the paper on the shorter end of the note, reading “MNB” and “20 000.” On the layout, in horizontal lines below each other, it reads “HÚSZEZER FORINT,” “BUDAPEST 2015,” “MAGYAR NEMZETI BANK,” and the relevant passage of the consequences of counterfeiting.
The first 20 000 bank note was released by the MNB in 2001, and it was replaced by a new, modern note with a security element on 15 April 2009.
