New street food spot opens in Budapest: Blaha Chicken Tenders takes the city by storm with chicken!

A new player has entered Budapest’s culinary scene: on 7 February, Blaha Chicken Tenders opened its doors at Blaha Lujza Square. This Hungarian-owned fast-food restaurant focuses exclusively on chicken. The venture is backed by the team behind Fat Mama on Kazinczy Street, who have long been key figures in Budapest’s dining scene.
“Not your typical fast food”
“Our aim is not to offer a classic fast-food experience, but a refined, high-quality street food concept,” Ádám Márton, CEO, told Mfor.hu ahead of the launch. The menu at Blaha Chicken Tenders is simple yet carefully curated: breaded chicken strips, coleslaw, fries, Texas Toast, and house-made sauces, all prepared from local ingredients, breaded on-site, and cooked to order.
Fat Mama expertise behind the scenes
The restaurant benefits from substantial culinary experience. Lessons learned from Fat Mama and years of professional chef expertise ensure that the chicken strips are consistently high-quality, even during peak hours.
“The single-ingredient concept is not just practical; it’s a professional advantage: faster processes, predictable quality, and customers know exactly what to expect,” Márton explained. The street food outlet is specifically designed for the busy transport hub at Blaha Lujza Square, where tens of thousands of people pass by daily, guaranteeing strong initial footfall.
