Commissioned at the turn of the 20th century by Her Imperial and Royal Highness Princess Klotild of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, the palace has long stood as a symbol of cosmopolitan ambition and architectural grandeur. Conceived as part of a bold architectural statement at the foot of the Elisabeth Bridge, the building reflected Budapest’s Golden Age – an era when cafés buzzed with intellectual exchange, and society gathered beneath grand chandeliers. Through changing eras, the building has remained a constant presence on the skyline, carrying with it the layered stories of Budapest itself.

Now, following a meticulous restoration, the palace is set to re-emerge, reimagined through the refined lens of St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, where heritage and modern glamour converge.

Founded in New York by John Jacob Astor IV in 1904, The St. Regis New York was envisioned as a gathering place for the luminaries of its age, a house of celebration where culture, society, and innovation came together. The St. Regis Budapest will feature 102 elegantly appointed guestrooms, including 39 suites and two distinguished signature suites: The Klotild Tower Suite and a two-bedroom Presidential Suite, where historic proportions meet luminous, contemporary detailing. At the heart of the hotel will be The St. Regis Bar, where the brand’s iconic Bloody Mary will receive a local interpretation alongside a refined selection of wines and spirits. Signature rituals – including Afternoon Tea and the celebrated Champagne Sabrage – will shape the rhythm of the address, delivered with the anticipatory care of the St. Regis Butler Service.
