Motorway vignette sales reach new summer record in Hungary
Motorway vignette sales in Hungary reached 4,786,000 in June-August, with foreign buyers accounting for around 60pc of all purchases, toll system operator NÚSZ said on Thursday.
In the summer months sales of one-week vignettes, valid for ten days, reached 2,562,000. Vignettes were sold for 314,000 cars registered in Germany, over 256,000 for cars from Romania and 170,000 for cars from Slovakia.
Summer sales of one-month vignettes stood at 911,000. Sales of one-day vignettes reached 976,000.
In the first eight months of the year motorway vignette sales reached 11,682,000.
Sales of one-week vignettes were at 4,916,0000 and sales of one-month vignettes stood at 1,424,000. Sales of one-day vignettes reached 1,824,000.
Sales of annual vignettes good for a single county were at 2,811,000, while sales of annual vignettes valid nationwide were at 706,000.
