New Ryanair flight announced from Budapest to this European city
The Irish low-cost airline, one of the main competitors of Hungary’s budget airline, Wizz Air, is to launch a new direct flight between Budapest Airport and a Portuguese city.
We wrote HERE about the sharpening Ryanair-Wizz Air competition in Italy. The Irish low-cost airline announced a new flight on one of the oldest routes of Wizz Air between Milan and Budapest, increasing competition for passengers. Now, they would like to expand in Portugal.
According to airportal.hu, a Hungarian air travel news outlet, the Irish budget airline’s new Faro-Budapest flight will commute twice a week. Faro is Portugal’s southernmost city and one of the most popular holiday places in the country, where you can enjoy a mild, oceanic climate even if Hungary sees coldest winter days. Therefore, we believe it will be popular among Hungarian tourists.
At the beginning of December, Ryanair announced new daily flights to Milan Malpensa and Skiathos (Greece). The former will start to commute in March, the latter in June.
Now, they expand in another Southern European country: Portugal. The airline will operate the Budapest-Faro flight between 2 June and 24 October. The planes will carry passengers twice a week under number FR 3589/3590. The travel days will be Thursdays and Sundays.
Ryanair shared its 2024 summer timetable in November. They offer 3 million seats for the Hungarians and passengers coming to Hungary. They have been continuously announcing new routes since then.
