Ryanair summer schedule out: flights to 51 cities from Budapest, great prices
Ryanair’s summer timetable arrived today and bookings for the holiday season are now open, the airline has announced. Those wanting to travel from Budapest received great news: in July 2024, 51 cities will be available with the Irish low-cost carrier from the Hungarian capital.
Ryanair’s 2024 summer schedule offers a total of 3 million tickets for travellers from Budapest, with prices starting from HUF 15,649 (EUR 41.19). The airlines’ summer schedules typically run from April to the end of October and are usually published in the autumn, opening up bookings, Portfolio informs.
According to Budflyer, an aviation news Facebook page, behind the big announcement, no new routes are yet in sight. In its statement, Ryanair also fails to mention how many flights it plans to operate. In the summer of 2023, it introduced one new route (Belfast) and operated a total of 500 flights per week on 56 routes.
The Irish airline offers flights from Budapest to 51 different cities in July, according to Ryanair’s flight finder.
Ryanair takes on online tour operators over horrific pricing
Ryanair has collated how much more online travel agents charge for certain services than airlines. The low-cost carrier even found a travel agent that adds 344% to the price the airline charges. According to hvg.hu, in a statement calling such activity fraud and piracy, the company said that several online travel agents are charging unsuspecting travellers for grossly overpriced services and charging them unjustified fees.
For example, the cost of checking in a 10 kg bag, which would have been EUR 18.4 in Ryanair’s own ticketing system, was available from the travel agent for EUR 39.6. To rebook for another flight would have cost EUR 105 instead of EUR 45. Most of the extra money is charged by some tour operators to allow passengers to choose where they sit. The “winner” is kiwi.com, which charges EUR 24.4 for what Ryanair charges EUR 5.5 on its own website. The same company charges EUR 30 as a processing fee – no such fee is charged by the airline.
