Hungary will spend more than 5 percent of GDP on family support this year, more than in any other country in the world, Minister for Families Katalin Novak said in a video message posted on her Facebook page on Saturday.
Government spending on family support is set to reach 2,600 billion forints (EUR 7.1bn) this year, two-and-a-half times more than in 2010, Novak said.
The government aims to make it easier to start a family, have kids and raise them, which is why it increases funding earmarked for family support from year to year, she added.
