Orbán: Joint fight against pandemic deepened Hungary-China friendship
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has sent “greetings of friendship” and expressed “best wishes” to Chinese counterpart Li Keqiangon on the occasion of the national holiday marking the 71st anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Orbán’s press chief said on Thursday.
Orbán said in a letter that he was “convinced the deep friendship between the two countries has stood the test of time and rests on solid footing, even in the face of the challenges caused by the changed international environment”, Bertalan Havasi said.
The prime minister said he was glad that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Hungary and China, the 17 + 1 cooperation between China and central and eastern European countries, and the Belt and Road Initiative reflected the success of long-standing Hungary-China cooperation.
“The joint efforts in the fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic have again borne witness to the friendship between our two nations”, Orbán said.
