Now you can walk to the other side of the Danube on dry foot
Those who are determined enough, can walk on 22-23 April along the 550-meter-long, barely three meters wide concrete tunnel in the bed of the Danube, with 16 meters high column of water over their head, in the utility tunnel connecting Visegrád and Nagymaros, Origo news portal said.
The Danube Regional Utilities Zrt. (DMRV Zrt.) will open the utility tunnel, which counts as curiosity in Hungary, between Nagymaros and Visegrád to the visitors this year as well, on 22-23 April. On the Visegrád side of the tunnel one can view the thematic exhibition about the construction of the tunnel and the Gabčíkovo–Nagymaros Dams, on the Nagymaros side you can familiarize yourself with the local flora and fauna on an unconventional nature trail.
Registrations received before and after the specified date will not be considered by the organizers. Due to the technical endowments of the facility, as well as accident prevention reasons, the number of participants in the program is limited, so they can only meet the needs of visitors accordingly to the registration.
