Number of active infections to be below 100,000 in Hungary soon

Altogether 38 patients died of a Covid-related illness in the past 24 hours, while 2,439 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Friday.

So far 6,401,307 people have received a first jab, while 6,185,041 have been double-jabbed. Fully 3,838,261 Hungarians have received a booster third shot and 249,089 a fourth shot.

The number of active infections has gone down to 100,707, while hospitals are treating 1,953 Covid-19 patients, 70 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.

Since the first outbreak, 1,839,358 have been registered with the virus, while 45,258 deaths have been recorded. Fully 1,693,393 people have made a recovery.
