Nemzetisport.hu reports that three names to attend the athletics competition in Székesfehérvár have been revealed. This year the event will last for two days, for the first time. Tianna Bartoletta, sprinter, Bohdan Bondarenko, high jumper and Gerd Kanter, discus thrower have already accepted the invitation of the organizers.
The competition will be held in the Regional Athletics Centre of Székesfehérvár on July 17-18. The already introduced three athletes have all participated at the Gyulai Memorial before, writes Nemzeti Sport.
The American Tianna Bartoletta has achieved amazing results during her career so far: she has been World Champion of long jump (both outdoor and indoor) and was a member of the sprinting relay team – which team won the final with an incredible world record of 40.82 seconds – at the London Olympic Games in 2014.
Besides, Bartoletta holds the Gyulai Memorial’s record in long jump with 694 cm, which she performed in 2014. It was not only the long jump that brought her success that year; she managed to claim the victory in the 100 m sprint, too.
The Ukrainian Bohdan Bondarenko is also a proud holder of wonderful titles: he is a World and European Champion of high jump. He made his debut before the Hungarian audience in 2014 and became winner with a competition record, 238 cm. Currently, Bondarenko holds both the European Record (242 cm) and the World Record (241 cm) of high jump.
