Opposition submits to president’s office draft decree on climate protection
Representatives of opposition parties went to the president’s office in Budapest on Friday to submit a draft decree urging climate protection measures.
In a joint press conference at Sándor Palace, they expressed the wish that President János Áder would also address their proposals at the UN climate summit beginning in New York on Monday.
The opposition politicians said they were appalled to hear Áder saying in a radio interview earlier today that Hungary’s responsibility in pollution is much smaller than that of large economies.
The draft decree has also been submitted to parliament, they said.
