The third one on the list is pro-government Lőrinc Mészáros whose interests win construction public procurements one after the other and who buys companies in almost every sector of the Hungarian economy, from tourism to catering or maintenance. Last year, it was István Tiborcz who suddenly popped up on the list and immediately arrived in its upper third. In 2020, it was József Vida, the owner of the channel TV2. Péter Szakonyi collected the 100 wealthiest Hungarians.

Lőrinc Mészáros‘s estimated fortune is worth 270 billion HUF (EUR 778 million), but that sum was only enough for the third place on the list of the wealthiest Hungarians, 24 reported. However, he already received 17.7 billion HUF from the state as non-refundable financial support that he can spend on the renovation of his hotels. Furthermore, Mészáros’s construction companies won 400 billion HUF (EUR 1.15 billion) on public procurements last year. Moreover, they received the giant project of the Budapest-Belgrade railway line upgrade which cost 2 billion dollars and was

classified by the parliament in May.

Sándor Csányi lost 50 billion HUF because of the crisis, but he still has an estimated wealth worth 310 billion HUF, which allows him to stand on the top of the list as he has for the past 10 years.

György Gattyán is the third with 280 billion HUF. The website is the 36th most visited in the world, having 40-45 million visitors per day.
