Budapest, April 6 (MTI) – A patients’ association will organise a walk across Chain Bridge in Budapest to mark World Parkinson’s Day on April 11.
Participants will walk across the bridge in the morning of April 11 to the Buda side and release balloons carrying wishes written on them by Parkinson patients, the organisers told MTI on Monday.
The event is to raise awareness towards the disease promoting greater understanding in society and to eliminate stigmatisation of patients, the Delta Hungarian Parkinson Association said.
They invite all those interested to join the walk from across the country.
World Parkinson’s Day is held on April 11 worldwide to mark the birthday of James Parkinson, the English physician who first described the disease.
