Péter Magyar: National Bank Governor Varga was unwilling to surrender to mafia boss PM Orbán

Hungary’s central bank (NBH) has ruled that opposition Tisza Party leader Péter Magyar did not commit insider trading or market manipulation. Magyar said in a statement on Tuesday that the NBH had terminated both proceedings against him.
Péter Magyar cleared in insider trading issue
“Once again, it’s clear that [Prime Minister] Viktor Orbán and his Fidesz cronies and propagandists have been lying to the Hungarian people for months and accusing us, without any basis, of committing crimes,” the statement said according to the Hungarian News Agency.
He added that it was also clear that Mihály Varga, as the central bank’s governor, was “unwilling to surrender to the mafia boss Viktor Orbán”.
The task now was to find “the 650 billion forints [EUR 1.7bn] stolen from” the central bank, he said.

I have come to think that it does not matter what Orban or Magyar say.
The election is simply about Orban convincing enough Hungarians that the current path, limited sovereignty within the EU, has more potential for their particular family, than does what will be a Magyar presidency – Hungary as a little voiceless Bruxelles satellite, just as it was a little voiceless satellite for the Soviet Union for 46 years.
Even though I prefer Toroczkai László, if I were a Hungarian the election at the national level would be a no-brainer, because a nation with limited sovereignty, even if the infrastructure is difficult, is vastly better than a nation with, at best, a marginally better infrastructure, with absolutely no sovereignty.
Amazing to live in a time when a large portion of each western country years desperately to be conquered, without even a shot being fired.
Juhasz Peter and Puzsér Róbert are their perfect spokesmen, just as if Pottyondy Edina and Cseh Katalin are their perfect spokeswomen – people who would loudly prefer to be in any family but their own – yet still choose to live with their own family.
Odd … very odd…
It is amazing how you frame this election!?
like Orbán who want to keep Hungary safe and flourishing while it is one of the most corrupted countries and worst living conditions in the EU!.
I wish we could just get closer economically and in spirit to enlightened administrations such as Russia or China. Anoint Mr. Orbán as our Leader until 2036. Land of Milk and Honey! Sigh …
Proud we still have a rule OF law instead of a rule BY law in Hungary. We have the right to protest and voice our opinions. It has been touch and go for a while (e.g. not for lack of trying by our Politicians) – but democratic structures and the trias politica appears to be holding.
