“Prime Minister, East or West?” Orbán’s main challenger Péter Magyar asks

“Politicians of the ruling parties are also lying and inciting hatred when it comes to Ukraine,” Péter Magyar, the leader of the opposition Tisza Party, said in a video on Facebook late on Thursday.

“Enough of the double talk and lies about Ukraine,” Magyar said, and asked Prime Minister Viktor Orbán if “he really opposes Ukraine’s EU accession, why didn’t he veto starting talks with that country in December 2023”, adding that the government’s websites “say to this day that the government firmly supports Ukraine’s entry”. Magyar said his party would “really ask Hungarians what they think about Ukraine’s integration” and suggested that the prime minister “should accept the people’s decision — not the way he usually does.”

“If Hungarians’ interests are paramount, why didn’t the government prevent GMO-contaminated Ukrainian grain from flooding into the country and why did they let many Hungarian farmers go bankrupt,” Magyar asked.

The Tisza leader also asked “how many thousand Ukrainians receive a pension in Hungary, while … hundreds of thousands of senior Hungarians live below the poverty line, and how many Ukrainians receive state-financed health services in Hungary?”

Magyar also asked if Orbán had phoned Russian President Vladimir Putin “to ask him to accept the US-negotiated ceasefire approved by the Ukrainian side”.

“Prime Minister, East or West?” Magyar asked.

  1. The reason is because orban is a corrupt blackmailer politician. Always trying to gain something for him. Hopefully he will be kicked out soon

  2. The obvious answer is that Orban chose East getting his kickbacks on his secret deals with Russia while he continues to blackmail the West. Russia is at war with Europe and we have no room for traitors.
