PHOTOS: beautifully decorated Advent trams to run again in Budapest!
The trams will circulate in the Hungarian capital from 25 November on all days of the week in different parts of the city. However, the decoration will not be using electricity because Budapest cannot afford that in midst of the economic and energy crisis. Instead, the Budapest Transport Company will run the tram with creative interior solutions to help passengers escape the hardships of their everyday life.
According to rtl.hu, a so-called “utility-reduced” tram will run on the streets of Budapest. That means it will not have the usual decorative lighting but a creative interior design evoking our warmest Advent memories. The Budapest Transport Company (BKV) said the tram would pop up until Christmas in many places in Budapest. The streetcar will be decorated with garlands, coloured balls, stars and snowflakes.
Rtl.hu asked the press department of BKK why they carried out the modifications on the Advent train and whether they plan to run the bright Christmas trolleys this year. However, they did not receive an answer but were asked to send their questions in writing.
This year you may find a QR code inside the trams as part of the decoration. If you direct your camera on the code, it will open the official page of the Dankó Street kindergarten for homeless children of the Oltalom Egyesület (“Shelter Association”). There you may send your donations to the charity organisation.
The Advent streetcar in Budapest will run between 2 PM and 5 PM on workday afternoons on tram line 2. On the weekends, the tram will circulate in different parts of Budapest between 10 AM and 5 PM. Below you may find their timeline:

Beautiful.
The “smiles” on the faces of the “little ones” just adorable.
Thank-You to ALL who make this possible, and add JOY to the MESSAGE of Christmas.
