PHOTOS: Hungary’s newest five-star hotel opened in Tokaj
The five-star Hotel Minaro officially opened in Tokaj. This is great news for all the wine lovers out there. You can now enjoy the finest wines in the world in the comfort of a luxury hotel. Who would not want to spend a lovely holiday at a UNESCO World Heritage Site? But let’s see what the new hotel has to offer.
The new Hotel Minaro MGallery is the newest addition to the franchise of the MGallery Hotel Collection. This is the luxury brand of the French company named Accor. It offers one hundred different rooms, nine junior suites and three further deluxe rooms that even have their own saunas. It awaits visitors in an old andesite mine — reports Turizmus.com.
The hotel
Its design was inspired by the old quarry and the surrounding nature. The name Minaro comes from the words mine and oro. The first part comes from the word mine, which is self-explanatory, as the hotel is located in an old quarry. The second part means gold because the wines of Tokaj are usually referred to as liquid gold.
When it comes to the interior, the hotel drew inspiration from the design of South American cultures. Most prominently it was influenced by the Incas, who also used a lot of andesite in the Andes. The surrounding rivers and forests create an incredibly peaceful environment.
What can you do?
We shall not forget that the hotel is located in Tokaj. This means that it is also heavily focused on providing a gastronomical experience. Hotel Minaro offers master courses in cooking, it hosts cooking shows and wine-tasting events. You can discover the taste of Tokaj in the elegant Tortuga restaurant or you can have a drink in the Viracocha bar. Furthermore, there is also the Event Center which can host more than a hundred guests.
What would a hotel be without a spa? Those who want to swim can head down to the indoor and heated swimming pool. For the brave, there is a small aqua park outside too. Although, in the winter, this might not be the place you want to be. Other than these, there are jacuzzis, saunas and wellness, where you can have a relaxing time.
The whole experience is quite exclusive as this is the first spa in Hungary that is operated by the French L’Occitane by MGallery. Far from the most frequented tourist routes, the guests can experience the beauty of Tokaj in its true glory.
