PM Orbán under harsh attack for his pro-peace program
“Everyone should finally realise that this war has no solution on the battlefield,” Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Facebook on Saturday.
Szijjártó said Viktor Orbán had been attacked by Ukrainian politicians after he once again stood up for achieving peace as soon as possible. “There is nothing new about this. Pro-peace politicians regularly face attacks and criticism. But we will not give up! We continue to insist that the most important task now is to save human lives,” Szijjártó said. The longer this war lasts, he said, the more people will die. “Everyone should finally realise there is no solution to this war on the battlefield! The solution is at the negotiating table! That is where lives can be saved,” the foreign minister said.

It is just so sad that these politicians always forget to mention how exaclty the peace should be achieved. Who should give up what demands and what compromises should be done? Oh, well maybe someday Hungarian politicians will remember to share their amazing detailed plans how the peace will be achieved. ´Till then we´ll just have hold our breath and wait for the great Hungarian resolution to end the war.
In the same paper I read that Hungary is sad that it had to give up territory after loosing the war in 1920, while at the same breath insisting that Ukraine should concede its territory to Russia. So what is it Peter, should we let Russia take parts of Ukraine and stop crying about something that happend 100 years ago, or should we expel Russia from Ukraine (who, by the way, did not take part in any war with Russia)? Let us know how you are doing this juggle act!
Agreed with @ostanus – our Politicians talk up “Peace”, however have been unable to propose any plan (other than withholding support to Ukraine). Scary. Any of the Orbánistas out there – feel free to correct me.
Hungarians in there MILLIONS still don’t get the Big Picture – the FUTURE damage Orban and his Government are BRINGING on Hungary.
Millions wrongfully thinking we can stand alone – do our own thing, stand on the outside of the Russian War on the Ukraine.
The “veiled” position Orban continues to take of Hungary, wanting peace, that resolution of his Russian friends – there War on the Ukraine, Hungary, playing a roll of PEACEMAKERS – RUBBISH.
Morning mailbags from the Kremlin, scrip-writers prepared – the “mouthing off” – the lines Orban and his Government, especially his Foreign Minister – Peter Szjjarto, what they are to “feed” out and into the Hungarian citizens – APPALLING.
Plastic, thin – likened to paper mache, not needing to be a Rhodes Scholar – able to see RIGHT through it – the Orban plan(s).
Hungarians in our millions continue WRONGFULLY to let it ALL happen, that we will be – what is the Nadir, of the cataclysmic MESS we are in as a country that presently pulverizes our country, declining life qualities to millions of Hungarians and FACT see’s us, as a country descending deeper into.
Hungary – we are in DISARRAY now, and the FUTURE heading to-wards a perilous ending.
First the lands in question are ancient Russian lands. When these lands were attached to Ukraine, Ukraine was part of Russia. The ethnic Russians had common history, maintained their language and culture. During previous regimes, ethnic Russians still felt part to Russia. The oppressed ethnic Russians have been at war with Ukraine since 2014. The ethnic Russians wish to be reunited with their country of origin.
Yes, the Treaty of Trianon detached lands from Hungary. However, the culture and the yearning to be reunited with their “mother” land still imbedded in the ethnic Hungarian descendants over 100 years later.
The powers be always making big mistakes by detaching ethnic groups from their “mother” countries. To this day, these powers keep making these huge mistakes. Koso will be the next battle ground.
Long term peace and unity will only be achieved when ethnic groups are united with “mother” country.
