President Novák: ‘There is no alternative to peace’
There is no alternative to peace, President Katalin Novák said in her address to the 78th session of the United Nations’ General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
“This war also directly affects us Hungarians. It is not just in our neighbourhood. Hungarian fathers and sons living in Ukraine are also giving their lives in the trenches,” she said.
In connection with the demographic challenges facing the world, Novák said that “if there is no child, there will be no future. What is the point of looking after the Earth if we don’t have children and grandchildren to pass it on to?”.
“We, Hungarians see the solution to the demographic crisis in strengthening and supporting families,” the president said some 15 minutes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s address to the General Assembly.

Meanwhile, also at the UN General Assembly, Mr. Zelenskiy in his address invited world leaders to attend a peace summit to help stop the invasion and future wars of aggression. Let’s see if Mr. Putin or Mr. Lavrov will show up.
Re children being the future, I am sure Mrs. Novák is abhorred by the abduction of Ukrainian children by Russia, although I have not seen anything from her or any of our Politicians on the subject, though!

Regarding the effectiveness of our Politicians policies to stimulate parenthood, let’s look at the facts. Again, I encourage you to find Hungary on the chart (you may need to extend the view) and draw your own conclusions based on the data:

The only thing that Russia could want from Ukraine is the oppressed, ethnic Russian minority. All these citizens should be repatriated. Russia should just walk away. Ukraine is not worth losing one more Russian life. Crimea should never be returned to Ukraine.
