President of AHU to receive a prestigious award  

The 6th Hungarians World Meeting was held in Urania National Film Theatre on 17th May. After all the historical flags were put on display, the grace was told by  Fülöp Kocsis, metropolitan archbishop of the Archeparchy of Hajdúdorog and head of the Hungarian Greek Catholic Church, ahu.hu writes.

Dr László Tanka, president of the World Summit, and representatives of the Guests of Honour welcomed the guests. In 2016 the Guests of Honour were Latin America, Burgenland (Őrvidék), and the county of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg.

George Pataki, former governor of New York State, Dr Tibor Tuzson, associate professor of Óbuda Unversity, and Sándor Balogh, president of the African-Hungarian Union received a public award “For the Hungarians’ of the World.” The award is given to those who work exceptionally hard for the collective Hungarian nation, help preserving the Hungarian intellectual heritage, and help making deeper public relations between countries.

“For the Hungarians’ of the World” art award was given to dance instructor and choreographer Sándor Tímár, dancer Böske Tímár, and performer Fecó Balázs.

Three people have been given the title “Honorary Hungarian.” The “Unity for Hungarians” award was given to Latin American Alíz Fedor, president of the Venezuelan World Club. The honoured guests received a certificate and Judit Józsa Transylvanian ceramic sculptor’s work the “Life-tree cross-for our preservation.”

The Bécsi Délibáb Dance Goup, the Csillagszemű Dance Goup, musician Gábor Kovács, and actor Péter Dóczy also participated in the event.
