Racetrack is up for sale for 24.5 million EUR in Hungary
One of the safest motor- and car-racing tracks is for sale. This is how the advertisement starts that advertises the A category racetrack, which noticed by one of feol.hu’s readers, reports Index.
The racetrack was inaugurated 20 years ago hoping that the Moto GP competition would come to the country, but the championship actually never reached Hungary. Still, there were many national and international car and motor racings held on the 4740 metres long track.
Although the track, located next to Ostffyasszonyfa is well used, because Austrian and German sportsmen come here regularly, it is now for sale along with systems of service, a saloon, a restaurant, the main building, go-kart and supermoto tracks, and the serving establishments.
The track is 11-13 metres wide with 11 right and 7 left turns and, because of the environmental capacity, it has 50-150 metres of sliding possibilities which have saved many drivers’ life.
However, it is said to be one of the safest racetracks, there was a fatal accident here four years ago. Two motorcyclists were following each other with a high speed when the motor in the back touched the one on the fore. The accident happened at a very high speed, so the drivers slid hundreds of metres on the ground. As a result the 46 years old German driver of the motor on the fore suffered serious injuries and died immediately. The other motorcyclist was taken into the hospital with serious injuries.
