Rail Cargo Hungaria starts exports of grain to Africa
Rail Cargo Hungaria has started delivering Hungarian grain bound for markets in Africa, the Austrian-owned company said on Tuesday.
With the cooperation of the Croatian state railway, Rail Cargo Hungaria has delivered 14,000 tonnes of grain, mostly wheat and barley, on 13 trains to the port of Rijeka in Croatia since the harvest finished in August. That grain is bound for ports in Egypt and Tunisia.
Rail Cargo Hungaria has made preparations to export over 1 million tonnes of Hungarian grain this season. The company is also in talks on transit deliveries of Ukrainian grain.
