Rector of the Debrecen University: medicine for coronavirus in the wine grape of Mád?
He said that the skin of the local wine grapes contains flavonoids, and those can extinguish the coronavirus in just a couple of minutes. However, he added that the grapes of Mád cannot be considered medicine or vaccine but a medical device which presents its effect on the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.
Dr Zoltán Szilvássy, the Rector of the University of Debrecen, gave an interview to the Debrecen Television during which he talked about the coronavirus epidemic. He said that he had already tried to raise awareness for how it was in the national interest to reduce Hungary’s import dependence on vaccines. Therefore, they then started systematic work, and that is how they can now be at the forefront of the relevant research.

He stated that humanity would not disappear because of the coronavirus epidemic, but nature gave us an important warning. The current virus appeared out of the blue, and nobody was prepared, neither technologically nor organisationally. He also said that even though many doctors think about obesity or diabetes as the most significant public health concern,
viruses and illnesses caused by them did not disappear.
Fortunately, now we have a chance to prepare for the second or third wave of the epidemic.
Mr Szilvássy said that nobody has died yet in Debrecen. Moreover, there are no infected people in local nursing homes, and only 22 people have been infected in Hajdú-Bihar County. Furthermore, most of them do not even reside there; instead, they live in nursing homes in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County.
He added that the University of Debrecen is one of the hubs of scientific research regarding the issue. He said that they had already produced a pastille that contains flavonoids extracted from the Mád Wine Academy of the university,
and those can extinguish the coronavirus in just a couple of minutes.
However, he stated that it cannot be considered medicine or vaccine but a medical device which produces its effect on the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract. Furthermore, he said that their researchers were able to find a way in which chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine did not cause arrhythmia as a side effect, so it could help people defeat the virus.
Thanks to that, Hungary has an advantage, so they will be able to provide enough effective medicine for people, Szilvássy highlighted. Based on some optimistic scenarios,
Hungarians may get chloroquine in two months, which can treat moderate coronavirus infections.
