Revolut terminates another service in Hungary

The story of cash deposits into Revolut accounts in Hungary has come to an end following the closure of the testing period. The fintech company did not provide an explanation for the decision.
Revolut terminates service after testing period
According to revb.hu, Revolut introduced the option for cash deposits in Hungary two years ago. However, the opportunity was not available to all users—only a small group had access to the service. The fintech cooperated with Paysafe to enable cash deposits in the country.
Users were able to deposit cash into their accounts at OMV fuel stations, although the service carried a fee of 2.5%.

Months after the launch of the scheme, Revolut reduced the limits for cash deposits. Users could deposit a maximum of HUF 209,000 (EUR 543) per day. Furthermore, the annual maximum was cut sharply from HUF 7.5 million to HUF 1.9 million (EUR 4,940).
In the final days of 2025, Revolut informed its customers that it was discontinuing the service in Hungary. The vast majority of users were unaffected by the change, as few had access to the feature in the first place. The fintech offered no explanation for its decision following the testing period.

Revolut ATMs on the horizon in Hungary?
According to Revolut, users will no longer be able to deposit cash into their accounts from 26 January. In some countries, Revolut already operates ATMs that allow cash deposits. Although the fintech has announced plans to open subsidiaries in Hungary, there is currently no information regarding the installation of Revolut ATMs in the country, as we earlier reported.
