Ryanair announces new flight from Budapest to the ‘Maldives of Europe’
Ryanair, the Irish low-cost airline, announced today six new flights to Albania’s capital, Tirana, from where the ‘Maldives of Europe’ is just a couple of hours away. Furthermore, one of the new flights is from Budapest.
According to LadBible, the ‘Maldives of Europe’ refers to Ksamil, a charming Albanian village along the Adriatic coastline with sandy beaches, lots of sunshine and cheap but quality accommodation. Needless to say, the sea is crystal clear. This is the new destination you can reach from Budapest Airport from 1 April.
LadBible wrote about a British mum, who recently visited the village and wrote “we’ve booked a central two-bedroom apartment for just £190 for six nights. It’s a great base for enjoying the many beautiful beaches, but also exploring some great places close by. We’ve just spent £5 at the supermarket to feed five people.”

The first flights will board from Budapest in April
Moreover, you can visit Corfu from Ksamil by plane. The astonishing Greek island is visible from the Albanian village, so the distance is not great.
Michael O’Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, announced six new flights to Tirana from European cities today: Bari (Italy), Birmingham, Bristol (UK), Budapest (Hungary), Marseille (France) and Vienna (Austria). The Ryanair CEO added they planned to carry three million passengers to Tirana in the first 12 months.
According to Budflyer, a Hungarian travel news Facebook page, the first flight from Budapest to Tirana will take off on 1 April. The planes will commute on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The flight numbers will be FR6887/6888. You may already book the flights on the official website of the Irish airline.
No thanks, I prefer the real Maldives!
