Saudi Arabia holds great export potential for Hungary, state secretary says
Budapest, February 24 (MTI) – Saudi Arabia holds a great export potential for Hungarian products, a state secretary of the foreign ministry told MTI on Wednesday.
Lászlo Szabó and his delegation arrived for a two-day official visit to Riyadh, where he conducted talks with Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Soliman al-Meshal, head of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, on future exports of Hungarian beef.
Szabó noted that Hungarian dairy company Kőröstej controls one-third of the market for cheese in Saudi Arabia.
The Hungarian delegation also held talks with Turki bin Saud bin Mohammad Al Saud, chairman of the King Abdulaziz Science and Technology Centre, on possible cooperation with Hungarian scientists in the areas of nanotechnology, neuroscience as well as research related to the oil industry.
Szabo attended the second meeting of the Hungarian-Saudi Joint Economic Committee, which discussed possibilities of cooperation in farming, R+D, education, sport and renewable energy. The two governments signed an agreement on cooperation in infocommunication, he added.
