Spring in Hungary: Say goodbye to cold nights and say hello to sunshine

After a frosty start, spring in Hungary is finally showing up. With temperatures dropping to -6.6°C earlier this week, the cold has taken its toll, but warmer, sunnier days are on the way. Hopefully, the warm weather will stick around this time and we can finally soak up some vitamin D.
Spring in Hungary to return
Spring in Hungary is slowly starting to show its face, but winter hasn’t quite let go just yet. Earlier this week, temperatures dropped to as low as -6.6°C in Zabar, with many places still waking up to frosty mornings between -6°C and -3°C, as Időkép writes. Even though Wednesday felt a bit milder, the cold snap still took a toll on orchards. The good news? Things are looking up. From Thursday, cloud cover moving in from the north should help keep the frost at bay, and by the weekend, most places across the country are expected to enjoy frost-free nights.

Expect more sunshine
According to Telex, it’s not just the nights warming up, daytime temperatures are also climbing. We’re expecting a mix of sunshine and clouds midweek, with highs between 7°C and 15°C. By Friday, it could hit 22°C in the west, though the northeast might stay chillier with temperatures under 10°C. The weekend looks promising, with highs between 14°C and 23°C and no heavy rain in sight. All signs are pointing to a more settled, milder stretch ahead, classic spring in Hungary finally making its entrance. We can only hope that this time it will stick around.
