FIRST Craft Beer in Budapest, a significant company on the Hungarian craft beer market scene, took part in this year’s Berlin International Beer Competition and came away with amazing results. They were chosen as the best brewery in Hungary, and two of their beers got silver medals.
The Berlin International Beer Competition is part of a larger initiative, The International Beverage Competition Series that is organised in several locations over the world, including New York and Melbourne – reports Turizmusonline. The panel of judges consists only of people who deal with purchasing, selling and classifying quality drinks as the representatives of the biggest and most elegant hotels in Europe on a day-to-day basis.
This year, the prestigious competition held in Berlin was organised in March. Hungary came away with impressive results.
FIRST Craft Beer Brewery won the title of ‘Hungarian Brewery of the Year’ while their craft beers, FIRST Pilsner and FIRST IPA, both won the silver medal.
FIRST Craft Beer Brewery in Budapest was founded in 2017 and managed to become a dominant brewery on the Hungarian craft beer market scene. Impressively, they succeeded in doubling their sales volume already after the first year by selling over one million pitchers of beer.
Dániel Kurucz, the owner of the company, had this to say about the results:
“It is such an honour that the judges considered our beer good enough, especially with strong German and Czech competition. This reward is a sort of recognition of the work we have done in the past year to elevate the culture of Hungarian beer.”
