System failure at Hungary’s border crossings lasted for a few hours
Traffic is back to normal at Hungarian border crossings after an IT problem was resolved, police said on their website early Monday.
According to police.hu, the cause of the problem has been found and solved by the experts, so from 3.20 AM border traffic can proceed as usual.
The IT system failure occurred late on Sunday evening and affected all border crossing points in the country. As a result, border controls were relaxed at the crossing points, so there were no queues during this time, police said.
The police continue to advise travellers abroad to check the opening hours and current waiting times at border crossing points before setting off via the Border Info page of the police website and the Police Road Information System (Rutin) mobile app.
As we wrote a week ago, more than 20 guns and pistols were seized from the Albanian driver, details HERE.
