Sziget Festival in trouble: government office investigation over LGBTQ video
We reported earlier that government-close media outlets and the deputy interior minister slammed one of the festival’s promotion videos because it depicted a lesbian couple. The conflict escalated on the first workday after the Sziget Festival started, last Monday, with an investigation launched by the Budapest government office.
As we unfolded the story in THIS article, government-close media outlets under the supervision of the KESMA foundation wrote that Sziget violated the Hungarian child protection law by showing a lesbian couple kissing in one of their promotional videos. Bence Rétvári, the deputy interior minister, condemned the following promo video:
Rétvári said the festival’s organisers intentionally provoked the Hungarian conservatives by airing such a video. However, while aggressively pushing the LGBTQ propaganda, they also maltreat sexual minorities by selling them out for profit. Earlier, Szilárd Demeter, the leader of the Petőfi Cultural Agency and owner of a large chunk of the territory where the Sziget Festival is held, said there might come a time when they stop supporting the Sziget Festival.

Investigation launched over Sziget promo video
And it appears, the dispute doesn’t end with the festival. According to Magyar Nemzet, the leading newspaper of the government-close media, the National Legal Aid Service (Nemzeti Jogvédő Szolgálat) reported the video to the Budapest government office’s customer protection service and asked them to call on Youtube and Google to take it down. They argued that it doesn’t follow the Hungarian law, and besides such content should not be accessible by minors.

NJSZ believes the promotional video showing a lesbian couple in one of its first scenes breaches the so-called child protection law of Hungary, which states that promoting homosexuality to an underage audience is strictly forbidden. However, the video doesn’t give an age-restricted warning. NJSZ said the video is an additional example of aggressive LGBTQ propaganda. The government office said they started an ex officio investigation. First, they collect evidence, and after assessing them, they will decide whether to launch a procedure.

Meanwhile, the owner of Orbán’s Fidesz party membership book nr 5, and a right-wing influencer, Zsolt Bayer, harshly slammed Giorgo Fekete, the frontman of the Carson Coma. Giorgo wore a T-shirt with a slogan “Homophobes are gay” during his Sziget performance. Mr Bayer called Giorgo a “piece of shit” afterwards.

Orban led Government again “embroiled” in controversy.

This will BE another “scaring” and “defacing” – of our reputation as a country, already SMASHED globally by the Orban Government, especially countries Governed under DEMOCRACY – through the WAY – the STYLE – that this Orban Government leads Hungary.

Pity help us as a country Hungary – if comments made in recent times, that the present Cardinal of Hungary – Roman Catholic – Peter Erdo, is a 10/1 shot as being the next Pope of the Holy Roman Catholic Church.
Interesting “cocktail” is the Erdo – Orban Government relationship, that appears very PASSIVE from the Cardinals chair.
If 2024 – there is another Sziget Festival – IF – it WILL draw MASSIVE numbers GLOBALLY from the LGBTQ Family, who would come in DEFIANCE of the Orban Governments wrongful enforcement of POWER – in the matter of LGBTQ – behaviour and life-style of choose.
His Holiness Pope Francis – “Who am I to Judge ” – remember HIS words and that WE need to openly live our lives that is focused on – with God as the CORE of our lives, the embracement of LOVE, to ALL – from all sections “Stations of Human Life.”
We don’t ALWAYS have to agree – but through RESPECT & Dialogue – find a “Common Ground.”
Democracy is DIALOGUE and AGAIN – the Orban Government – us first – what we want and THINK, without dialogue conducted under DEMOCRACY.
Orban has set in STONE – wrongfully the entire LGBTQ – the FEAR he and his Government exhibit/display, the branding labelling of HUMANS who choose to be GAY – under the Family banner of LGBTQ.
I don’t understand these people. They’re fully accepted in the society, and have been for years if not a good two decades. Nobody cares who they like, who they love, or who they schtup in their bedrooms. And yet, they feel this compulsion to rub their “gayness” in everyone’s faces, especially children’s. Why? Can’t they just… – BE?!?
People use some terms as they want, without any correspondency with reality. Respect, dialogue and democracy, received a extremely “elastic” interpretation, depending on who use it. Some people just see democracy when their point of view are preponderant, or, when their party, or candidate win the polls, thus, Hungary is not a democracy for them, for obvious reasons. Hungary is an exception, and in many ways (not only the government) don’t agree with the massive LGBT propaganda among the western civilization. However, there are absolutely no respect and no dialogue in terms of the international efforts to push LGBT agenda by any means, something that perhaps, under a hungarian view, are not so evident, but in other places of the western world, is crystal clear, and that´s so evident that anyone can see and feel, it’s not me that are saying, this can be easily confirmed by anyone, just asking them, it’s impossible not to notice, it’s all in the name of “love”, and under the rule of extremately wealthy international companies and brands, or sometimes governments. There are no dialogue, just imposition without any proper context (children), judgement, threaths of criminalisation, and somehow, intimidation. There are no respect at all, cristian symbols are often violated and that’s nothing new.

Why is Hungary trying to be a laughing stock?
András, Hungary is a democracy. that does not mean that people have to accept tyranny of the minority. As far as LGBT is concerned, people are respected, and the non-LGBT members should respect the wishes of the majority.
LGBTQ people are not rubbing anything in anyone´s eyes. They wear their own symbols just like e.g. religious people wear their symbols. That is not rubbing it into someone´s faces, especially not rubbing it in children´s faces. Can´t conservatives just let LGBTQ people be? This “think about the children” is really poor excuse to try and silence and push LGBTQ people into hiding as nobody has ever proved that LGBTQ does any harm to children. The only people that can be described with the words “tyranny and aggressive” are those who want to silence the minority who rarely get their voice heard, but even that is too much for conservatives. If only total silence is acceptable, that is tyranny, not democracy.

Hungary, and hungarian society are conservative in several ways, as the government, and that should be respected.
As long as it is legal for two women to share a kiss in public why should the government persecute a festival for including a two second flash of two women sharing a kiss in a one minute promotional video? The persecution of LGBTQ minority groups by the Orban Government is a crude way to drum up support by attacking minorities to appeal to the majority. It is exactly the same method the Nazis used persecuting Jews for being different. If you are going to ban a gay kiss in a video then you should ban a heterosexual kiss as well. It has absolutely zero to do with “protecting children.”

You are fools if you think any standards are applied by a goverment that has huge majority 4 elections is persecution. You have a left wing city goverment reminds me of has SF and LA used to be. Open up the streets to drug traffic and anything goes- these are places where you can steel up to a thousand dollars of anything and the Soros funded prodecuters will not charge you and business will be charge if you try to stop them. Other major cities like chicago and NYC have Soros funded prosecutors.

Invoke democracy, in defense of LGBT, they are right, however, any others, have also the right to disagree, since respectfully, that’s also part of democracy, often omitted, apart from who is the majority or minority.
Preserve child’s, and child’s education it’s also about democracy.

It is not about sexuality but about provoking. What saddens me is that those we hear shout do not speak for the average gay or lesbian at all. Struggling with their own identity is a problem for more and more people and it is true children, and teenagers are vulnerable to what is said, what teachers say and what is in the news, and shown on television.

KC: So are you the one who decides what is normal? Everybody should live according to what you say is normal? No, In a democracy, diversity is normal. In tyranny, normal is defined by leaders and all else is forbidden.
If you want hetero parades, go ahead and organize them. Nobody is trying to stop you – definitely not LGBTW peopple, at least if its not about being against of peopple who are not heteto sexual.
LGBTQ do not provoke. They act normal. Conservatives are provoked by their normal happy behaviour of cherishing love without restrictions of which type of person you are alloved love.
