Hungarian FM Szijjártó expresses condolences over death of Iran’s president, foreign minister
Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has expressed his condolences over the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian who died in a tragic accident on 19 May.

Szijjártó’s letter to Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran
Szijjártó said in his letter of condolence posted on Facebook and addressed to acting foreign minister Ali Bagheri Kani that “I remember during my visit on 16 December, 2021 my meeting with Mr President Raisi and talks with Foreign Minister Abdollahian who always supported the strengthening of traditionally friendly Hungarian-Irani relations”.
“I will never forget that he was always available when I asked him for a meeting and he expressed respect for Hungary,” he added.
Szijjártó said his thoughts were with the loved ones of the deceased and wished good health and strength for the responsible work of the acting foreign minister in this difficult period.

It is truly amazing that the Hungarian government remains a good friend of the state sponsors of terrorism. Any self-respecting Hungarian should be disgusted.
Ebrahim Raisi was a murderous chief oppressor of the Iranian people. Millions of Iranians welcome his departure from this planet. He was nicknamed “The Butcher of Tehran” for his role on the death committee during the 1988 executions of political prisoners and said the killings were “one of the proud achievements of the system.” UN officials have accused him of “crimes against humanity.” According to Amnesty International, “thousands of political dissidents were systematically subjected to enforced disappearance in Iranian detention facilities across the country and extrajudicially executed pursuant to an order issued by the Supreme Leader of Iran and implemented across prisons in the country. Many of those killed during this time were subjected to torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment in the process.” Because of the large number, prisoners were loaded into forklift trucks in groups of six and hanged from cranes in half-hour intervals. This is who Nazi Szijjarto sheds his tears for.
If there was any one leader whose death does not require condolonces then surely it is this one. Could Mr Sijjarto please supply one honest reason why anyone should be sad?
Larry, i agree, apparently the Fidesz cabinet goal is just to do disgusting agenda to upset normal people. Just watching Szijjártó’s bromance with Lagrov makes me sick. But hey long live to Hungarian sovereignty no?
Hungary like the US and other countries sent condolences to Iran on the death of the butcher of Iran. When Blinken, US foreign minister, and US Undersecretary were questioned, they said that it is the normal thing to do.
I disagree. The death of the monsters should have been celebrated.
The US did not post on Facebook speaking of their “friendship” reminiscing about the good times together.
Larry, you are right. The US only removed sanctions and freed up funds for Iran. Let see, which decision was more harmful?
