The first Hungarian soldier, father of two died in Ukraine!
As all the world’s attention is on Ukraine, stories about their heroes are told.
Two soldiers died in the Kárpátalja region (Transcarpathia), Ukraine, in the war against the Russian troops. One of the victims was a 29-year-old Hungarian soldier. The man served in the Ukrainian navy, and he lost his life in Ochakov, leaving his wife and two children behind, writes kronikaonline.ro. Sándor Kis joined the military when he was only 18 years old, in 2012. During the Russian operations to occupy Crimea, he served on a Ukrainian warship that was the last one occupied by Russian soldiers. Even a movie commemorates the heroic soldiers, in which Sándor played a smaller role. Another soldier, who died in the tragic event, was very young. He lost his life at the age of 22.
Another soldier’s tragic passing made headlines as well. He volunteered to undermine a bridge to slow down the Russian troops. Unfortunately, he did not have time to leave the bridge and blew it up, sacrificing himself for his country. The bridge had to be blown up because it was connecting the Russian-occupied Crimea to Ukraine. The Marine Corps is now asking for a posthumous state military award for the Ukrainian soldier, writes Index. On the first day of the invasion, 130 Ukrainian soldiers lost their lives.
Meanwhile, civilians are trying to defend their country as well. People not only throw Molotov cocktails at Russian tanks but also climb on them. Some people even kneel in front of them in opposition.
This decision is rather symbolic, as the Russian tanks can run them over at any given time. Many footages, however, are made and distributed by the locals and serve one purpose, writes szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu. These images and videos have a serious impact and influence on the outside world who is seeing these footages provided by locals and feel sympathy towards the fighting nation. In the past, these images were difficult to publish, and journalists had to go to the venue and inform the public about what was going on in war zones. Now that almost everyone has a phone and access to the internet, it is up to the locals to frame and share their own stories with the whole world watching.

With fake news prevalent across the board, it is difficult to sort fact form fiction. In the end one goes with what one thinks is true and with gut instinct that democracy will win over the megalomaniac brainstorm emanating from a dictatorial leader such as Putin.
