A Google Street View car ended up in the police station in Hungary
The Hungarian police have opened criminal proceedings. The driver of a Google Street View image-recording car was attacked in Szombathely.
The nature of the conflict is not yet clear but several people reported that a Google Street View car was parked in the Szombathely police car park for several hours, 112press.hu reports.
At first, there was nothing suspicious about the case. However, even after many hours, no one came to collect the car. A brief response from the Vas County Police Headquarters revealed that the driver of the car was in police custody.
“Earlier, there was an altercation between the driver and another person. The Szombathely Police Department is investigating the circumstances of the incident in the framework of a criminal procedure on suspicion of committing a misdemeanour of hooliganism,” the police wrote. No further information is available at the moment. Usually, in such cases, the issue derives from the fact that the vehicle is taking pictures on the streets. Many people do not consent to be photographed, hvg.hu writes.
