The government of Uganda is negotiating with the representatives of Hungarian companies
Julius B. Onen, secretary general, personally delivered the invitation of the Ministry for Industry and Trade of Uganda to Balázs Lukács, manager of the Hungarian Trade and Cultural Center’s (HTTC) office in Uganda. Lukács’s task was to deliver the invitation to the representatives of agricultural services and subcontractors who had participated in the “Ugandan-Hungarian Business Forum” between 12-17 November 2015, reports globoport.hu.
Agriculture not only has a crucial role in developing the Ugandan economy, but it has great opportunities regarding the Ugandan-Hungarian cooperation. In Kampala, Miklós Seszták, Minister of National Development of Hungary, and Amelia Anne Kyambadde, Minister of Industry and Trade of Uganda, discussed future possibilities for the two countries working together.
Earlier this year the representative of the German Petkus Technologie Gmbh, and experts of the Hungarian Ferroplan Ltd. have already visited Uganda thanks to the contribution of the HTCC in Kampala. The experts made study plans, technological plans, and concrete recommendations for developing the country’s agricultural storage capacity, and its crop managing technology. On account of the Hungarian Trade and Cultural Center’s (HTCC) persistent lobbying, and thanks to the devoted work of the participating experts, work still continued after they left, and the government is finally ready to make an agreement between the two countries. The business delegation (the very first one to be led by the representative of the Hungarian government to the East-African Uganda) that was organized by the HTCC had a great part in achieving this goal.
As a result of the invitation, Sándor Gergely, (Petkus-Közép-Európa Ltd./chief clerk), László Szalontai (Ferroplan Kft./design engineer), and Marcell Márton (Inagro Kft./executive director) travelled to Uganda, to continue the negotiations with the delegated experts of the Ugandan government.
