The Hungarian pavilion fascinated the Dubai crown prince! – PHOTOS
Dubai Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum visited Hungary’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai on Tuesday, the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTU) told MTI.
The crown prince, arriving at the head of a 40-member delegation, was fascinated by what has been named as one of the 15 most captivating pavilions of the World Expo, it said.

showed keen interest in the pavilion, which showcases Hungary’s rich sources of mineral, medicinal and thermal waters,
and especially the installation of the spa town of Hévíz, as a potential tourism destination, the agency said.
The pavilion, the first wooden structure in the Gulf region,
drew inspiration from the works of renowned architect Imre Makovecz. It was constructed without using a single drop of water, in line with the expo’s theme of sustainability, MTU said.

Meanwhile, carrots produced in the rich soil around Lake Fertőd in northwest Hungary were granted the European Commission’s protected geographical indication (PGI), the Agriculture Ministry said on Wednesday. The label “Fertőd vidéki sárgarépa” can be used on carrots grown around lake Fertőd, boasting a bright red colour without roots, branches or cracks, the decision said. They have “a length of 150-250 mm, a diameter of between 15 and 40 mm and a weight of between 50 and 150 g,” the EC said.
