The Most Charming Outdoor Venues And Gardens In Budapest
Gardens and outdoor places are like paradise to those people who live in the city. They think differently about green areas, flowers and rustling of the leaves. Being in the nature seems refreshing after being in the traffic and smog day by day. Luckily, there are plenty of such hidden places of our beautiful Budapest which surprisingly have a special garden. In a two-part article we’d like to show you some of these places which are highly recommended to go out, welovebudapest.com reports.
Arioso cafe
At the 9, King Street there is a small shop which attracts locals with beautiful hydrangeas to go in. The shop called Arioso Cafe focuses on high-quality souvenirs and home decorations and the shop offers different products from Italy, Spain and Andalusia. Moreover, going into the coffee shop people could see a desk full of cookies but there are no chairs or tables in the shop. In the backyard of the building – which was built in 1810 – there is a calm and peaceful outdoor coffee shop. There are also magnolia trees and a wheel swing, too. The building is more than 200 years old so it’s a protected monument and in each part of the building its history can be recognized. The coffee shop has a huge variety of coffee specialties, juices and cookies. Everybody who knows how noisy the King Street is will be surprised and will gladly enter this quiet garden which is located in the city center. According to legends the cobble stones of the garden were replaced from the pavement of the St. Stephen square. Arioso on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ariosobudapest/
Massolit Book and Coffee shop
Entering into the shop you may feel like you are in a romantic French movie and waiting Ameliè to come out of the bookshelves. Massolit Book and Coffee Shop is also located in the city center and has a very unique and special atmosphere. Moreover, the shop is part of the biggest green area of the 7th District of Budapest. Massolit got its name from the English translation of the book called “Mester és Margarita” (Literature of the Masses). Interestingly, the bookshop has hundreds of books and all of them are written in foreign language. People who enter the shop can also find books about the Judaism and literary works as well. Furthermore, reading events and exhibitions are also organized in this place where anybody could join for a coffee or an organic tea to relax. This homey venue has a small garden as well full of fig trees and a vegetable garden. Eventually, it seems to be in the countryside in our grandmother’s garden. Pierrot coffee and restaurant
Pierrot is one of the most well-known venues of the Castle District of Budapest which is famous for its sophisticated elegance. The restaurant has been working since 1982 and belongs to the Michelin Guide since 2005. The building has an ancient history; this was the first coffee house in Budapest. In the medieval ages of King Matthias this place used to be a bakery and the court of the Buda Castle used to eat those breads that were baked here. Nowadays, the restaurant’s aim is to bring the Hungarian cuisine of the Monarchy back. Furthermore, all the five-star meals could be eaten in a “secret” garden sitting in the grass in a picturesque environment. Pierrot cafe may also be the perfect choice for wedding ceremonies due to its romantic and stylish atmosphere. Among others, Marcello Mastroianni, Jeremy Irons and Robert De Niro are also returning guests of the restaurant.
