One of the most unique Hungarian beaches, the Aquaticum in Debrecen, will open in the second half of May. The 2025 summer will mark the 5th anniversary of the beach’s successful renewal.

According to Termál Online, a Hungarian news outlet focused on news concerning Hungarian beaches, thermal baths, and spas, the predecessor of the beach opened in 1932 and became very popular in no time. However, by the 2000s, its complex renewal and upgrade were due. The reconstruction works started in 2018 and finished on 20 June 2020. Finally, the project was more than just a simple renewal; a brand-new beach was born with unique architectural solutions, which won multiple awards.
The number of visitors broke a record last year: the Aquaticum welcomed more than 217 thousand guests. The beach operates between May and September, depending on the weather. In 2025, it will open its gates for visitors on 23 May, one week earlier than last year.
Multiple pools await all age groups with unforgettable experiences
The facility’s area comprises more than 8.5 hectares with 5,700 sqm of water surface and 15 pools. The Aquaticum offers various program opportunities and adventures for all age groups.
The smallest ones are welcome in three thematic kids’ pools, but there are wave, adventure, sport, relax, and spa pools. Visitors who aim to spend their holiday actively can try several sports grounds in the facility or participate in special programs like the night of pools.
